Blood Bag Centrifuge
Blood Bag centrifuge is available as large volume floor-standing model or space – saving under bench model. Centrifuges are provided with refrigerated systems to keep your blood bags to desired temperature.
Large centrifuge may hold up to 4-750 ml blood bags for separating red cells from plasma. Rotor buckets have oval shape to easily fit blood bags for centrifuging. Oval rotor buckets have plastic adapters that donor bags are inserted into. Adapters allow the technician to easily load the centrifuge faster. Faster loading of rotors efficiently maintains refrigerated temperature of red cell bags.
Processing may include centrifuging triple bags with additive and plasma option or whole blood bags. Centrifuges may also be used for removing preservatives or leuko filtered white cells.
Technicians may use two of these centrifuges simultaneously for faster processing. While one centrifuge is spinning the technologist removes the blood out of the other centrifuge that has stopped for processing.
Processing whole blood requires removing the plasma using a spring loaded device that pushes the plasma from the top of the blood bag. Blood tube sealers separate connected bag tubing.
